1. Remember your ‘why’
Your ‘why’ should be more than your financial desires, it should align to your purpose, passion and how this can benefit others. When you understand and align to your ‘why’ then this will provide passion and boundless energy that will attract the right clients. It will also help you weather against any setbacks that you may encounter.
2. What’s your desire?
To run a business that will be successful you have to want to succeed. You will have a desire that is innate. Success to you, will look different to what success means to others. Define what success looks like to you and then you’ll have a blueprint of what you’re aiming for.
3. Be consistent
Success in your business will come from being consistent. Potential and existing customers are more likely to trust and conduct business with you when you have a consistent marketing message.
Inconsistency in your brand and messaging can lead to confusion as to what you stand for and to what you offer. On average people need to have had experienced at least 7 touch points of you/and your business before they decide to buy.
4. Take Action Towards Your Dreams
Those entrepreneurs that are successful ensure that they take inspired action to achieve their intentions everyday. They make it a priority, dedicate time to it, and schedule it into their daily routine.
Ensure that your actions are ones that contribute to growing your business. For most entrepreneurs these actions are likely to be sales or marketing-related, as these activities contribute to the lifeblood of any business.
5. A willingness to invest in yourself
Highly successful entrepreneurs continuously invest in their own learning and personal development. This can take the form of having a coach, mentor, being part of a supportive community of other like-minded entrepreneurs (such as mastermind groups), attending conferences, training courses or reading books. Tony Robbins, one of the world’s top performance strategists, recommends that the simplest way to be successful is to seek out those ‘entrepreneurs’ who you wish to emulate.
These entrepreneurs will usually be those who are well known in your industry. Buy their books, attend their events and buy their programs. If their programs require a very high level of investment that is out of reach, find a coach that will help you reach that level of income in your business. This will enable you to invest in that ‘high level program’ that will no doubt change your life and your business in the long term.
If you want to experience a life changing transformation in your business then be willing to invest in yourself at a level that will be uncomfortable.
6. Have an open mindset
We all have beliefs that underpin the way in which we lead our lives and run our businesses. Running a business means that you’ve already taken the step into starting a business. A step, that most people will never be brave enough to take.
If you’ve been in business a little while, you may have experienced feedback from friends and family (particularly if they’ve not ran their own businesses) that doesn’t always support your business choices.
It’s important to find other like-minded people who will support you. As you grow in success, this will become more important as your beliefs and mindset will be challenged as you step into your growth. Don’t fight or resist it, just be willing to have an open mindset.
7. Add value
The more value that you can to add to a person’s life, the more success you will receive in return. Instead of thinking ‘What’s in it for me’, think from a place of ‘how can I serve my customer to the best of my ability’.
Apply this also in your marketing. For example if you’re writing an article or blog post, or another piece of marketing, provide your audience with valuable information that will contribute to their lives
